Breathworks Teacher Training
Breathworks offers teacher training at the introductory and advanced levels for those interested in learning Mindfulness-Based Pain Management (MBPM) and becoming Breathworks Mindfulness Teachers, accredited to run our two signature 8-week courses, Mindfulness for Health (previously Living Well with Pain and Illness) and Mindfulness for Stress.
If you've participated in TT1 or TT2 no earlier than January, 2012 and are looking to complete your training and get accredited click here.
Who is the Training Programme for?
Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher Training is for anyone familiar with Breathworks who already has an established mindfulness practice. Most people who attend have either participated in our Foundation Course, one of our 8-week courses or are healthcare, mental health, or social service professionals.
Pre-requisites for applying
What if I am new to Breathworks or don't have an established mindfulness practice?
Breathworks offers a week-long residential Foundation Course that will introduce you to our approach to mindfulness and support you in establishing a regular mindfulness practice. This course is a great first step if you are interested in becoming a mindfulness teacher.
If attending a residential retreat is difficult for you because of life circumstances, we also offer this foundation course in two 3-day non-residential modules.

What can I hope to achieve as a result of participating?
The Training Programme is designed to build your understanding of and skills in:
- The principles and practices of MBPM
- Teaching MBPM to people with pain, stress, and illness
- Clearly presenting Breathworks key concepts and facilitating group learning
- Effectively and confidently guiding meditation practices and mindful movement\
- Supporting course participants in practising mindfulness in daily life

How is the training structured?
Training is offered at the introductory and advanced levels. Each level consists of participation on a week-long residential course. After completing introductory training, students apply their skills by supporting or running a course, with the guidance of a supervisor. They can then choose to return for advanced level training. Students can attend advanced level training and practice their skills by supporting or running a course as many times as they would like until they feel they are ready to become accredited as a Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher.
The training also includes participation on a Mindful Movement non-residential weekend and completion and review of meditation and mindful movement diaries.
